About Traineeships
Traineeships include a work placement & a training programme.
The placement provider receives funding. It is a win-win solution for both the candidate and businesses!
Below you will find out everything you need to know about Traineeships.
1. General info
The programme is for the young people who are not currently in full-time employment and have little work experience, but who are focused on work or the prospect of it.
Because of the nature of this programme (temporary placement), the employer is not required to pay salary to the trainee. It is recommended, though, to reimburse lunch & travel expenses.

A Traineeship includes:
  • work placement (on-site or remote) for 70 hours min.
  • training in Employability skills, English/Maths (if necessary), other courses relevant for their role.
We suggest to organise it into a 2 or 3-week placement with training.
You provide the placement, and the training is on us!

A company can have up to 10 placements. They can all be for the same or different roles.

The types of roles you can hire trainees for include:
  • Delivery driver
  • Waitressing / waitering
  • Retail assistant
  • Warehouse assistant
  • Admin assistant
  • Business assistant & Personal assistant
  • Sales & Marketing assistant
  • Customer service assistant
  • Online research assistant
    2. Your role
    • Provide a meaningful placement. Organise feedback sessions with a trainee with constructive feedback and advice.
    • Provide the necessary equipment. If a placement is remote - provide the laptop, and other equipment, as necessary. (approx. £250 - this will be reimbursed from the funding)
    • If a job or an apprenticeship is available, offer the trainee an interview at the end of the programme. If no such opportunity is available, provide an exit interview with meaningful written feedback.
    3. Our role

    • Guide your company through the process & answer your questions.
    • Help you sign up for the programme, including assistance with documents' preparation.
    • Source the candidates.
    • Check the candidates' eligibility & basic suitability for the position at your company.
    • Provide you with a list of tasks you could give to the candidate so that both your company would benefit from the worker & they would also find the role interesting.
    • Provide you with a template of a feedback letter you would need to send the candidate at the end of their placement.
    4. Candidates
    A candidate would be:
    • 16-24 years old
    • with education up to (and including) A-levels
    • with little work experience or with work experience in a different field, but willing to learn and grow!

A company can have up to 10 candidates. The grant funding is capped at 10 placements per company.
    5. Claim funding
You will be able to claim funding upon completion of 70 work hours by the candidate.
If a candidate leaves before completion of 70 hours, the funding will not be issued.

The funding will be sent to the employer. It is processed within a month of placement completion.
That is, if a placement lasted for 4 weeks (more than 70 work hours), the grant will be issued upon the placement end, and not when the 70-hour point was reached.

The amount of grant funding is £1000, and it is not dependent on placement length. Out of £1000, £500 goes to us for the provision of our services.

If you do recruitment by yourselves, we would charge less for our services - £250 instead of £500.
That means, you will be getting £750 per placement.
Prepare the documents & sign up for the programme.
    Week 1
    Weeks 2-3
We find a candidate for your role. Check their eligibility, examine their CV and conduct the initial interview.
    Weeks 4-9
    Placement & training time!
Usually a candidate does 1-2 weeks of onboarding with the training provider & then moves on to do the placement itself. Immediate placement start can also be arranged.
Placement completed - funding received! Usually it takes around a month to process the payment.
